Camp BTX Brownsville takes place at Camp Rio, a dynamic outdoor environment that allows campers to fully immerse themselves in the challenges and possibilities of life beyond Earth.
This location creates the conditions for exploration, collaboration, and hands-on discovery in a setting designed for movement, experimentation, and real-world application.
This isn't a simulation. This is where engineering, innovation, and the future meet.
Campers step into the role of interplanetary explorers as they conduct planetary research, solve complex challenges, and explore what it takes to sustain life beyond Earth.
The overnight experience transforms Camp BTX into a fully immersive mission environment. Campers extend their journey into a full residential adventure at Camp Rio, staying in modern on-site cabins alongside some of our Guide crew while building independence, resilience, and strong team connections.
As the sun sets, the mission continues. Evenings unlock a new layer of the experience with exclusive programming designed to bring the night sky and the Mars mission to life. Campers will participate in activities such as constellation identification, star-guided hikes, and hands-on use of telescopes and observatory equipment, turning curiosity into real exploration and connecting their learning to the vast universe above them.
This extended experience allows campers to fully live the mission, not just participate in it, blending structure, discovery, and community in a way that creates lasting memories with their crew.
Overnight camp pricing includes accommodation, all meals, activities and programming, and transportation throughout the week. Airport pickup can also be arranged for campers traveling in to join the overnight experience.
Campers will learn from our Guides of the Galaxy, including aerospace educators, engineers, and industry professionals who bring real-world experience directly into the learning environment.

With the Texas summer heat in mind, we are fully prepared to keep campers cool and grounded. We have built in daily sprinkler time, popsicle snack breaks, and tented program areas to keep them out of the sun's direct heat. Campers will also have the opportunity to complete a swim test and take a dip in the pool!
